You’ll go it alone in 2022-Senior Jubilee Party Official Tells DP Ruto

A senior official in the ruling Jubilee Party has told Deputy President William Ruto to prepare to go it alone for vote hunting in Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2022 general election.

The party’s Vice Chairman David Murathe ,who is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto’s fiercest critic from Mt Kenya region reiterated that Ruto’s support from the region is not guaranteed.

“There is no one who is forced to support William Ruto,” he told People Daily in an interview on Monday.

“What I know is that voting is a choice. Anybody is free to run in 2022 including Raila Odinga. 2022 is not about the DP it is about the party. Who knows who will be alive in 2022?”He posed.

“It is up to the DP to work hard and make sure that passion remains in 2022.”Murathe added.

Murathe’s remarks came hours before the ruling party cancelled its Parliamentary Group meeting scheduled to take place on Tuesday at State House.

In the meeting President Kenyatta and his deputy were expected to address pertinent issues that have rocked their unity.

Ruto’s push to succeed Uhuru has sent shivers across Jubilee inner circles.

DP Ruto’s lieutenants have accused some handlers of the President of sabotaging his bid for State House in 2022.
