Bodyguard/driver attached to Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Chris Obure (pictured above) was on Wednesday night shot dead by unidentified assailants.
The driver was murdered at civil servants’ quarters in Kariobangi South, Nairobi.

According to Buruburu Police boss, Geoffrey Mayek, “the driver had dropped the CAS at his Nairobi residence and drove to his house at Civil Servants’ estate in Kariobangi at 9.45 pm where the shooting happened.”
He explained that the driver was driving an official government vehicle and had parked it when a gang of two on motorbikes struck as he walked out.
According to preliminary reports, the assailants demanded his gun.He was unable to produce the firearm the gang wanted.He was consequently shot several times by the gunmen.
“The driver had resisted when the two men who were on motorcycles accosted him. It seems that he resisted, and he was shot twice in the chest.” Police boss, Geoffrey Mayek stated.

He died on the spot.
