President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to former Citizen TV Swahili anchor Kanze Dena after making her first State House press briefing.

Ms Dena, who was appointed as State House Deputy Spokesperson and Deputy Head of Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU), made her maiden speech donned in a navy blue trouser suit and sky blue shirt.
In a tweet, the Head of State said:
“Great inaugural briefing this morning by my new deputy spokesperson.”
Her her maiden speech,Ms Dena malso announced President Kenyatta’s schedule this week.

Addressing the media in Swahili, Dena revealed President Kenyatta’s itinerary saying he shall be travelling to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia tomorrow to attend Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) meeting.
Asked whether Opposition chief Raila Odinga was invited by President Kenyatta to the IGAD meeting, Kanze clarified that the event would only be attended by heads of states.
Also,State House Deputy Spokesperson announced that Mr Kenyatta will be headin to Kajiado to inspect the progress of the second phase of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and later launch the governors’ convention.
She further said the Head of State would be expecting a major delegation from United States including investors to grace the Kajiado event.
Being her first briefing,it was not flawless and at some point the nervy-looking Kanze addressed the media as “mtazamaji” (listener) but was quick to apologize that she was still adjusting to her new job.
