President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally put the record straight on what his ceasefire agreement with NASA chief Raila Odinga last month, was all about, amid speculation and intense political debates on what it actually entailed.
Speaking at Chatham House during his visit to London,UK,on Tuesday, April 17 ,the Head of State stated his truce with the former Premier had nothing to do with the raging 2022 politics.

He further said his Harambee House meeting with Mr Odinga was inspired by the need to end this kind politics and to put the interests of Kenyans first.
He further insisted that the handshake should never be perceived out of context.
“We can have opposing views but still reach bipartisan agreements for the people. My reaching out to Raila and the Opposition after the elections must seen in this context,” Uhuru said during his address.
The president added one of the government’s biggest agendas is to create a condusive environment for doing business.

There was a prolonged debate on what the Uhuru-Raila unity pact entailed and how it was likely to affect the 2022 politics matrix.
