Uhuru Is Not My President:Prof Makau Mutua Reiterates his 2013 Statement

Renowned political columnist, Prof Makau Mutua, has reiterated his 2013 statement that he does not recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as the elected President of the Republic of Kenya.

Taking to his social media handles, Makau, who is a former Distinguished Professor at Buffalo Law School in New York, said his conscience does not allow him to recognize the duly elected President  since this year’s Presidential elections were basically an amalgamation of the 2013 electoral  misconducts.
In 2013 Prof Makau tweeted;

“As a matter of freedom of conscience and thought, I can’t accept Uhuru Kenyatta as President of Kenya. I can’t and I won’t.” My views haven’t changed, and won’t change. That’s because I believe the election was compromised and not free or fair.”

Last year,Makau was poised to take over the Chief Justice position from Dr Willy Mutunga but the above tweet ruined his chances.
It seems Mutua has not learnt from his past mistake since he posted yesterday,12th August,that;
“The SINS of 2013 have been COMPOUNDED. That’s why as a matter of my CONSCIENCE I CAN’T – and WON’T – RECOGNIZE Uhuru Kenyatta as President”,Makau Mutua wrote

Kenyans on social media could not let it slide. Below are some replies they wrote on his timeline;
