Emerging details have it that heavily armed CID officers raided the Ngirita family home in Naivasha on Sunday, leaving a trail of destruction.
This comes as the family ,whose five kin are being held in prison over the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal, say that their lives were in danger over the ongoing case.
During the second raid, over ten officers drawn from Nairobi and Nakuru arrived in the home located at Lakeview around 7pm and broke into several septic tanks and sewer lines, leaving the family shaken.
They detectives left in a hurry after learning the raid had been reported by one of the family member to the local police.
A relative, who spoke in anonymity, said the officers arrived in three vehicles. They broke down the gate to gain entry.
He further confide that the officers seemed like they were looking for something specific.
They went from one manhole to the next as they tried to get inside the main house.
“There was no search warrant. We came to learn from neighbors that the officers were already in the compound and we suspect something sinister,” the relative said.
The officers left in a hurry after the family started contacting their lawyers.
The family criticized the State for what they termed harassment from the authorities. A source at Naivasha police station confirmed the occurrence of the raid but said they were not involved.
“We are yet to know what they were looking for at that time of the night,” the officer said.
