The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM),yesterday 14th September, called for investigation and possible prosecution of IEBC officials for electoral malpractices that marred the August 8 General Election.
In an interim statement dated September 14, the EU mission made a raft of proposals to promote accountability and transparency in the repeat presidential election set for October 17.

According to The Daily Nation,the European-based Observer group also criticized President Kenyatta’s remark referring to Supreme Court judges as “crooks.”
The observer mission were referring to President Kenyatta’s remarks in Burma market,Nairobi, where he disagreed with the 7 judges’ ruling,terming them as ‘wale wakora‘-loosely translated as “those crooks“.
Other than the criticism,Marietje Schaake, Chief Observer of the EU EOM and Member of the European Parliament from the Netherlands, suggested improvements to the electoral process ahead of the presidential repeat election scheduled for 17 October.
