President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration have decided on withdrawing the security detail of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho after he attended NASA’s swearing-in event.
Governor Joho invited Raila to the podium to take the oath and has since been the talk of town ahead of 2022 general elections.

Joho’s bodyguards were recalled on Tuesday. it was not however clear whether officers guarding Joho’s residents were also recalled.
Reached for comment by The Star, the governor said: “I will never complain about it.”
This is not the first time the Mombasa governor is facing such a predicament. In 2016, the state withdrew his security after he bashed president Uhuru Kenyatta over development.

Following the controversial swearing-in, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i said investigations were launched into those who took part.
They include lawyers Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang, Miguna Miguna and Siaya senator James Orengo.
