Details have emerged that Former NTV general Manager Linus Kaikai could be headed for trying times ahead after State House blocked his apparent move to Royal Media Services where he was set to replace Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney, who was the media house’s Chief Operations Officer before her appointment to join President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

According to impeccable sources privy to the matter and close to Business Today, State House went through the RMS vice chairperson Purity Gathoni Macharia to block Kaikai from joining the Media House.
It’s also alleged that, State House had a hand in Kaikai’s exit from NMG over his purported links with NASA leader Raila Odinga and most likely after he failed to obey orders from State House not to live stream Raila’s mock swearing-in.
“State House was furious that Kaikai was getting even a more influential position in a big media house even after he took part in what was clearly a treasonable affair. But they knew SK Macharia would be difficult to convince following the shutdown of Citizen TV and Inooro TV that saw him move to court seeking compensation. So they devised a way of convincing his wife who as vice chair runs the media house’s day to day affairs,” the source told BT.

Kaikai announced his exit from the Aga Khan owned media house after a meeting that had been converged by the Top management at NMG.
Reports also indicate that RMS top management has settled on Radio and TV Production Director Fred Afune as Karoney’s replacement.
