The top candidate in KCPE 2017 is a girl who goes by the name Goldalyn Kakuya.She trounced all odds to emerge victorious despite her condition as an albino.
According to her parents,she fought long spells of poor health due to her condition to emerge the top performer.
Kakuya scored a total of 455 out the possible 500 marks.
Teachers and parents at the St Anne’s Junior School Lubao in Kakamega county broke into celebrations after learning of her impressive performance.

She aspires to become a neurosurgeon or a banker.
The candidate has been a top performer since she joined the school’s Nursery until she sat her KCPE exam.
Her father happens to be a manager at West Kenya Sugar while the mum is a lecturer at Kibabi University.
They said she is a hard worker,disciplined and a role model to other pupils.

The school’s head teacher Mr Mukoya Nambande said the ever meek girl had done the school proud.
“We knew she would score highly in KCPE because of her consistent performance. She has always topped candidates from other schools and was confident of a good performance,” said Mr Nambande.
Teachers said the girl is also gifted in public speaking.
