“Since Friday, sijaona my husband, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko. He has not been around in his Nairobi home because of the security, he fears for his life,” said Primrose as quoted by K24 TV.
Primrose said that her husband was fearing for his life, ever worrying of what will happen. She added that their children are also distressed, fearful of the new reality.
“Security has been withdrawn,both for night and day. All have been taken away including his bodyguards. We are living in fear,..especially the children are not used to this kind of life,” she revealed.
She further disclosed that she was all alone at this trying times;
“like now we are sleeping alone, we don’t know what will happen. We only have hopes in our God.”
This comes after the ministry of Interior Security scaled down Governor Sonko’s allocation of 26 bodyguards to 13 in what CS Fred Matiang’i termed as an irregular allotment.

Addressing the issue, police spokesman Charles Owino reiterated that the withdrawal was part of a recall of 5,000 officers who were intially attached to VIPs in excess.
“In the case of Sonko we only took what is in excess and left the maximum number of security as required. So he has sufficient security,” said Owino.
Governor Sonko is reported to be currently holed up in his expansive Machakos home situated at Mua Hills where he has been meetings with County Executive Committee members.
