Shocker Awaits CJ Maraga After Jubilee’s Latest Move

The murky relationship between the judiciary and Jubilee coalition is headed for more rough patch as the ruling party plots an all-out war designed to overhaul the entire Supreme Court and bring new faces.

Still stung by the court’s decision to annul President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win of August 8th , the Jubilee administration has a set of options to help it achieve its intentions.

Several leaders in the party confided to The Daily Nation that Jubilee is looking to form a Parliamentary Select Committee or appointment of a Commission of Inquiry to look at the whole episode of the Supreme Court decision.

This is besides the many petitions that have been filed and the move by Jubilee MPs to push for changes in laws relating to elections and those that could touch on the top court.

Sources indicated that the President may tap a respected judge from the Commonwealth to head such a committee with a wide mandate to include, among others, the issues mentioned in the petitions against judges Philomena Mwilu and Isaac Lenaola.

The plans are, however, hinged on the premise that Mr Kenyatta will emerge victorious on October 26.
