The National Super Alliance (NASA) 99144 paybill number faces could be shut down by service provider Safaricom since according to Safaricom,NASA is raising funds for reasons other than those stated during their application.
In a letter addressed to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)Chief Executive Officer,Safaricom’s HOD John Muchiri cites that NASA is using the paybill for purpose contrary to what it was indicated to be used for during application for the paybill number.

According to the HOD,the paybill was initially issued by Safaricom to NASA for the adopt a polling station initiative but not raising funds for their current Presidential campaigns.
“We refer to the M-PESA Paybill that you applied for in June 2017 to facilitate the raising of funds for the Presidential campaigns.
We note that the usage of the Paybill has now changed and the same is now being used to raising funds to adopt a polling station.This is contrary to the purpose for the Paybill that you indicated when applying for the Paybill.
We therefore request that you provide us with written confirmation on the purpose of the paybill and when the fund raising will end.”read the letter addressed to ODM in part.
In case NASA fails to provide a written explanation for the intended purpose of the Paybill, it could be closed since according to Safaricom,it is currently used on purpose that was not initially indicated while applying for it.
