Opposition leader Raila Odinga has hinted at a possible power-sharing deal between his National Super Alliance (NASA) and the ruling Jubilee government, following his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta last month.
Speaking at a funeral service in Shinyalu, Kakamega county on Saturday, Odinga who has since acknowledged the re-election of President Kenyatta, maintained that he will not remain calm while his rivals enjoy his ‘victory’.

In an easily decoded parable, Odinga pointed at a possible ongoing plan that could see him get a piece of his prey which ended up in the hands of his rivals in the August 8 presidential hunt.
“We shot an antelope which unfortunately did not die on the spot, taking off and ending up in the hands of our rivals who despite being aware that we are the owners are now busy slaughtering it,” he said.
“We are not going to silently let them enjoy our labour while we watch, we will push and must get a piece,” he said in Swahili.

This comes amid a series of reconciliations pitting the former Prime Minister and his former rivals, an initiative that was kicked off by his handshake with his biggest political rival President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9.
He has since gone ahead to meet among others retired Presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki, rendering the nation unaware of the veteran politician’s mission.
