Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga has received a special invitation to give a keynote address at Uganda’s Democratic Party (DP) Youth Conference.
The invitation was made by Chairman of DP Party of Uganda, Samuel Lubega while at the Orange House on Friday morning.
Posting on their Twitter page, ODM Party noted: “Party Leader Raila Odinga received a formal invitation to give a keynote address at Uganda’s DP/SDP Youth Conference on 23rd May 2018 at Makerere University.”
ODM also divulged that the conference is aimed at merging two parties, the DP and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
“ODM leadership has been invited to a major youth conference of the DP and SDP parties which will culminate in a merger of the two parties,” the party added.
The Opposition Supremo was at the Party offices chairing a meeting of the Central Committee of the Party.
The committee is made up of Siaya Senator James Orengo, Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna and the party’s Executive Director Oduor Ogwen.
According to the party, the former Prime Minister talked to the committee members on the handshake and the Unity of the Nation.
During his visit, Mr Odinga will be accompanied by the party’s Secretary General Mr Sifuna, the Executive Director Mr Ogwen and the party’s National Youth Leader Benson Musungu.
Mr Odinga has in the recent days been meeting up with high profile leaders following his unity pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
