“If the government imposes itself on the people the people have a right to self determination the people also have a right to disobey orders coming from such a government therefore we will not go for violent confrontations with the government we will go for peaceful resistance,” Mr Odinga said.
Raila termed the low voter turn out in Thursday’s election as a, “vote of no confidence” in the President Kenyatta led government as asked the head of state to resign to that effect.
He added that he can only dialogue with President Uhuru Kenyatta on holding fresh elections in 90 days bit not on a nusu mkate government.
Asked about the main reason of changing the opposition Coalition into a resistance movement,Mr. Odinga said that his decision are within the law.
“As you know, our Constitution allows for picketing, for striking, for peaceful processions, for protesting and so on, and for boycott. So, we have several other means which are legal and constitutional at our disposal, which we will bring into play to put pressure on this government,” he said.
