National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has finally explained why the Opposition coalition keeps postponing his oath taking despite growing impatience from his supporters.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with KTN News on Tuesday, the former premier said it was necessary to give President Kenyatta’s government time to show goodwill for dialogue.

“NASA is very clear and what we have said is that we are allowing room for discussions. We’re going to go ahead and do it,” Mr Odinga said.
He further clarified that his planned swearing in would not breach any law and was in line with the strategy deployed by the People’s Assembly.
The opposition chief however noted that he fully understands his supporter’s growing frustrations.
During a church he attended in his hometown of Bondo,drama ensued when an elderly woman attempted to have NASA leader Raila Odinga take oath of office as the people’s president.

There were ululations while smiling Raila, not keen on disappointing the woman,took the Bible but just smiled and assured the congregation that he would take the oath at a later date.
“I understand how eagerly you are waiting to see me taking oath but be assured that next year will be a good year for all Kenyans,” he said as quoted by Standard Digital.
He however failed again to give a specific date.
