Opposition Chief Raila Odinga on Friday gave an explanation as to why his counterpart President Uhuru Kenyatta has not spoken publicly since their unexpected meeting at Harambee House,Nairobi.
Speaking in Kisii County during a meeting with leaders in the region, the former Prime Minister said the Head of State has been silent since they had agreed to wait and see how Kenyans would respond to their truce.
He also reassured that he would soon be making nationwide campaigns in company of President Kenyatta in a bid to reunite the nation, which was adversely polarized due to the prolonged electioneering period.

“We have not spoken publicly since we signed the MoU. We agreed with Mr Kenyatta to wait and see how the country reacts to its contents.
“That’s why the President together with the people’s President have not spoken,” he revealed.
He also added that Kenya had witnessed bloodshed for long and it had to end.
“We have been seeing blood all the time. From 2007 to date. At least 350 innocent lives have been lost in our country since August 8,” he said.
This was the first time Raila was publicly commenting on his meeting with President Kenyatta which drew various reactions from all over the world.
His counterparts in the opposition alliance put him on the spot for excluding them in the talks in which he made peace with the Head of State.
