Orengo’s First Win Spells Doom For Aden Duale in Petition Challenging his win of Aug 8th

New turn of events have emerged in petition challenging the win by Majority Leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale as Garissa Town MP in the August 8th election.

The petitioner,former National Assembly deputy speaker Farah Maalim has been granted permission by the High Court to access all information contained in the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System kits (Kiems) kits used during voting at Garissa Town.
Lady Justice Hedwig Ong’udi on Friday, October 6,also directed Mr Maalimto ensure the ballot boxes containing election material are properly sealed to avoid any interference whatsoever ahead of the petition hearing from October 16th.
Lawyer James Orengo and Daniel Maanzo will be representing Maalim,lawyer Mansur Issa for the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and Lawyer Ahmednassir for Aden Duale.

Abdullahi was directed to appear at the Garissa High Court to witness the movement of the ballot materials during the access exercise.

The judge also directed Deputy Registrar to prepare a report for the exercise.
