Orengo slaps Raila,Uhuru With fresh demands

The unitary talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his political nemesis Raila Odinga will be fruitful if the government fulfills two conditions, James Orengo has said.

Top among the two conditions is compansating of post election violence victims and dropping of all cases labelled against business mogul Jimmy Wanjigi.

“We are not blind to enter an agreement and I want to assure you nothing will be done if certain conditions are fulfilled,” said Orengo at a funeral in Siaya on Saturday.

Throughout the electioneering period, at least 200 people were killed by the police, leading to condemnation from the international community.

And the Senate Minority Leader says, Raila’s pact with Uhuru will be fully implemented after the two conditions are fulfilled.

“The families must be fully compensated and that is not negotiable. We also want to see cases against Wanjigi dropped.”

Armed police officers broke Wanjigi’s Muthaiga home last year and since then, he has been a regular visitor at the CID.

Believed to be the financier of the NASA coalition, Wanjigi has been accused of being in possession of illegal firearms in his custody.
