Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has finally come out and spoken about the looting spree that occurred on Tumaini supermarket,Kisumu, during their anti-IEBC protests.
In a statement to newsrooms,ODM has distanced itself from the looting incident that took place on Friday evening.
ODM’s Executive director Mr Oduor Ong’wen condemned the incident saying it was a plot to smear the ongoing demonstrations calling for electoral reforms and justice.

“The deliberate and conspicuous absence of the police as this incident happened points to an unacceptable complicity and choreography for which the local police leadership must come out clean,” read the statement from ODM as seen by The Star.
Mr Ong’wen asked the police to probe the incident, calling upon them to protect people’s property during the demos.
“This is more critical than their obsession with throwing tear gas and meting ruthless brutality on innocent and law-abiding citizens,” he stated.
Rowdy youths,believed to be NASA supporters broke into Tumaini Supermarket and stole items worth an unknown value during the anti-IEBC demos in Kisumu on Friday.

Police were forced to lob teargas canisters and shoot in the air to disperse the looters who were part of the protesters.
