He told the court that he was still a registered member of Wiper party, which is an affiliate party to the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.
It can be argued that his association with another party automatically disqualifies him from being a member.
“I have not resigned but I have only identified myself with another party,” Omar said before judge Lydia Achode,The Star.
The former senator was pushed to confess his allegiance with Jubilee when he insisted that the August 8 polls in Mombasa were marred by irregularities.
He raised claims of ballot stuffing and other election malpractices the main reasons that affected the poll outcome.
Omar was the Wiper Secretary General until September when he switched his allegiance to Jubilee party.
