Kitui leader,led by their Governor Charity Ngilu today,19th December,endorsed Francis Nyenze’s wife Edith Nyenze (pictured) for the vacant Kitui West parliamentary seat.
Speaking during the burial of the former Minority leader in Kyondoni Village, Kitui County, Mrs Ngilu urged the Electoral Commission (IEBC) to instead use the money set aside for the by-election to fund water projects in the region.

“I have heard what Kitui West wants, Edith Nyenze you will carry this seat in your shoulder and I will campaign for you.

According to Kitui leaders, the late Nyenze’s wife ,Edith, is a clear favorite to clinch the seat, hence a by-election would merely be a formality.
The late Francis Nyenze passed away on Thursday, December 6, after a decade-long battle with Colon cancer.

A by-election would be held within the next 3 months after the Speaker of the National Assembly formally declares the seat vacant.
Nyenze’s wife will contest with other prospective candidates despite the open endorsement from Kitui leaders.
