New details have emerged on why NASA head of People’s Assembly Dr David Ndii was pounced on by CID detectives on Sunday at Leopard Beach Hotel,Kwale County.
Police officers, who spoke to The Star Newspaper in confidence, have claimed that Dr Ndii was planning to meet the outlawed Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) group and other secessionists at the coast region.

The officers also disclosed they had placed Dr Ndii under 24-hour surveillance before deciding to arrest him.
“We have been monitoring his movements and meetings. We had information he may have been planning meetings in Mombasa with MRC members or associates,” one of the officers confided to The Star.
Ndii’s wife denied the reports and said they were in Diani on holiday and to attend to their nephew’s wedding.
“We came to give our daughter a holiday after the wedding. My husband did not have any other engagements or meetings,” Mwende Gatabaki said yesterday in a press conference.
Police arrested the Nasa strategist for incitement in a interview he had on TV and also in a social media post he had authored.
He was later released on Monday evening after paying a Sh10,000 bond ,following orders from the DPP.
