NASA Okays Al Ghurair, OT Morpho’s Involvement In October Presidential Poll

National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has said that the coalition is ready to backdown on two of their ‘irreducible minimums’,that is: Dubai based Al Ghurair firm and IT company OT Morpho’s involvement in the repeat election as long as IEBC reconstitute their commission’s secretariat and evict CEO Ezra Chiloba.

Speaking to the Saturday Standard, the Wiper Party leader also noted that the coalition was going to participate in the election if the Jubilee legislators throw away their amendments bills to electoral laws.

He said that the amendments bills were ill timed and if signed into law, would delay the October 26 polls.

The former Vice President also said that the ruling party was afraid of going up against them hence the ‘unconstitutional laws.’

”If Chebukati fires Chiloba today, and President Kenyatta and his Deputy drop their mischievous Election Laws Amendment Bill currently executed on their behalf in Parliament, I will request Raila that we teach Jubilee a lesson in the repeat polls,” he told The Standard.

”If they pass the laws and Kenyatta assents to them, we will go to court immediately,” he added.

Kalonzo’s position, which he said is personal is a climb down for the Opposition’s initial hardline stance which had eleven irreducible minimum demands they needed met before they could participate in the repeat poll occasioned by the Supreme Court nullification of the August 8th presidential election.

Chebukati on Friday formed a seven member team that he said would oversee the repeat polls and ensure they were free, fair and credible.

CEO Ezra Chiloba, Nancy Kariuki and Silas Rotich were conspicuously missing on the list.
