The National Super Alliance (NASA) has postponed the much anticipated controversial swearing-in of its leader Raila Odinga as the ‘people’s president’ and launch of the People’s Assembly. In a statement to the press,NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi said the decision was taken following internal and international consultations.

Mudavadi however said the resolve to swear-in Odinga has not changed urging supporters to remain vigilant.
“Following extensive internal consultations and engagement with a wide range of national and international interlocutors, the NASA leadership wishes to advise the NASA fraternity and the general public that the swearing in of Rt. Honorable Raila Amolo Odinga and His Excellency Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as President and Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, and the launch of The People’s Assembly scheduled for Tuesday 12 December have been postponed to a later date.”
Furthermore,Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) director of communication Philip Etale took to Twitter to explain the decision further.
According to Mr Etale,the highly anticipated event has been postponed so as to allow ample time for further preparations of the same.
“The EVENT is postponed to pave the way for proper preparations of the same. The struggle is on. Don’t despair. Don’t lose hope. We shall get there. Soon.”Read Etale’s tweet.
