NASA launches a series of events culminating to Tuesday’s Grand Rally

The National Super Alliance (NASA) ,led by Raila Odinga, has today (November 24th) began a series of activities that will end in a grand public rally on November 28th.

The coalition leadership has organized a rally at Uhuru Park next Tuesday, parallel to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s swearing-in ceremony set to take place Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.

In the lead-up to the parallel rally, NASA will today hold a fundraiser at Nairobi’s Laico Regency hotel to assist families of those killed before,during and after protests against the October 26th election.

Raila,ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula will lead the funds drive.

According to NASA ,at least 27 were killed between Friday last week and Monday this week.
The coalition has placed an obituary in the local dailies containing names of 27 supporters who they say either died from police bullets or were hacked to death in the unrest that broke during Raila’s return from the US, and during Supreme Court ruling that upheld Uhuru’s win in the October 26th poll.

According to The Standard, NASA will on Saturday be at Machakos where they are set to hold their inaugural mini People’s Assembly.

They have invited MPs at the Maanzoni Lodge for what they have planned to be a Mini Council of the People’s Assembly.

On Monday, NASA is set to hold a memorial service for the victims killed in protests in separate venues across the nation.

While on Tuesday,NASA will stage what they call a mega rally /joint memorial service at Uhuru Park for all the slain victims since the August elections.

By Thursday , the NASA strategy team had finalized on drafting the plan which was presented to the principals on Friday morning, following Raila’s return from Zanzibar Island, Tanzania.
