Nasa Governor congratulates Uhuru for His Cabinet Appointment

Turkana Governor and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party member Josphat Nanok has congratulated three newly appointed Cabinet secretaries saying they deserve it.

The three, John Munyes, Ukur Yattani and Keriako Tobiko, were unveiled by President Uhuru Kenyatta when he announced changes in his administration on Friday.

In a statement released on Friday night, Council of Governors chairman lauded the move as a clear indication of goodwill toward devolution.

Governor Nanok also congratulated his challenger in the 2017 gubernatorial race, former Turkana Senator John Munyes on his nomination to the Cabinet.

“Having served as pioneer Governors and Senator, the leaders are champions of devolution and their appointment will deepen the relationship between National and County Governments,” the Chairman’s statement read in part.

Nanok said their appointment will deepen relationship between national and county governments.

“The council is looking forward to working with Uhuru’s government to enable effective delivery of services by ensuring that devolution continues transforming the lives of Kenyans,” he said.

However, the fate of 13 Cabinet Secretaries hangs in the balance after Uhuru Kenyatta only retained six in changes announced.

The president retained Henry Rotich (Treasury), Charles Keter (Energy), Joe Mucheru (ICT), Najib Balala (Tourism), James Macharia (Transport), and Fred Matiang’i (Interior and Education).
