National Super Alliance(NASA) has decided to take the fight against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s “illegitimate” re-election to the United Nations.
Allies close to the NASA leader Raila Odinga have reveled that the opposition coalition was working on a petition to challenge Uhuru’s legitimacy at the New York-based global agency.

The formal application will be written to UN secretary general Antonio Guterres and Moussa Faki’s Addis Ababa-based African Union.
According to The Star Newspaper, a team working on details was finalizing the petition and was due to brief Mr Odinga.
The former PM is said to have met South Africa’s Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and South African politician Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu during his visit to Zanzibar last week.
“We will be briefing the Prime Minister and we hope the letters will be dispatched,” a former diplomat working with the team told the Star.

Those said to be in the team drafting the petition include head of NASA technical team David Ndii, former EALA MP Abubakar Zein, former Foreign Affairs Assistant Minister Richard Onyonka (Kitutu Chache South), Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o and Suna East’s Junet Mohamed.
This would be Odinga’s second attempt to have the UN intervene in Kenya’s political impasse after an initial appeal 3 months ago was declined.
After the bungled August 8 presidential election, the UN turned down Odinga’s request to review the election results, which he claimed were rigged in Kenyatta’s favour.
