Nandi Govenor Stephen Arap Sang has joined the voice of NASA leader Raila Odinga and Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) in questioning the credibility of the just released 2017 KCSE examination results.
Speaking at a function in Nandi county,the young Governor lauded the work done by CS Fred Matiang’i in the education sector but urged him to probe into what might have caused the the massive failure by students in the 2017 exams.

He noted that it was not possible for more than 400,000 students to get below the D+ mean grade.
He further observed that those students will have nowhere to go to since there is scarcity of youth polytechnics and colleges that can take all those students.
“Do not condemn our kids into life of desperation…to the extend that some are committing suicide for simply failing in their exams,”Sang said.

On Thursday, KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion wrote to the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) demanding a recall of the results for moderating and auditing.
“The results are not credible at all, they are irregular and most disastrous exam in the Kenya history, and does not meet the international standards of measurement and evaluation,” read the letter in part.

Nonetheless,opposition supremo Raila Odinga issued a statement to the press urging for speedy investigations into what he termed as ‘worrying trend of mass failure’ in KCSE examinations.
