Mutahi Ngunyi Reveals two Things That Made DP Ruto Skip Uhuru’s Cabinet Unveiling

Controversial Political pundit Mutahi Ngunyi on Sunday (7th January) highlighted possible reasons why Deputy President William Ruto chose to skip the unveiling of new cabinet by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In his analysis, together with his team of young African scholars from the Fort Hall School of Government,Ngunyi said one of the reasons DP Ruto did not show up during the launch of Kenyatta’s partial cabinet was because he could not gain much from appearing in the first place-with his 2022 ambitions in mind.

“Ruto will become President in 2022 that is a fact of history. For this to happen, Uhuru must release him (Ruto) from unnecessary duties like attending press conferences at State House with him.

“This process began on Friday when the President appeared alone,” One of the Scholars observed.

Secondly, the analysts explained that for the DP to win the 2022 election, he must take part in nation building activities and not press briefings.

“Ruto must drive national reconciliation duties from this year. That cannot happen if he stands behind the President in press conferences,” Ngunyi’s team remarked.
