More Woes at NTV as Top Investigative Journalist Resigns

Nation Media Group’s NTV has suffered a blow following reports that another senior journalist is set to leave the station.

Prime crime and investigative reporter Steve Juma is set to quit after being appointed as the Director of Press for one of the governors.

Sources in the media house indicated that Juma is expected to hand over his resignation letter by the end of this week.

Details also emerged that the investigative journalist is finalizing his employment terms with his new employer.

“By the end of this week, he will have resigned. I can also confirm that he has already had a sit-down with the employer,” the source noted.

Juma joined NTV having worked for QTV as a court reporter in 2013, since then he has been a crime reporter.

The reporter is most prominent as the brain behind ‘Sauti Ya Haki’ segment which highlighted the tribulations of the oppressed.

He recently got a grant from Plan International for being a top young investigative journalist.

“Am not willing to comment on this until I make up my mind, NMG has been my home and family but life is dynamic and it takes unexpected turns,” the journalist mentioned when contacted by one of the popular online magazines.

Other journalists who have left the station are Nimrod Taabu, Victoria Lubadiri, Larry Madowo, Linus Kaikai, Mercy Juma, Jamila Mohamed, Enock Sikolia and Rashid Abdalla.
