Martha Karua Breaks her Silence on Miguna’s deportation

Former long-standing member of parliament for the Gichugu Constituency Martha Karua has finally expressed her views on the deportation of Self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement’s General Miguna Miguna.

Penning her opinion and tagging President Uhuru Kenyatta on Twitter,The former Gubernatorial aspirant said that the forceful deportation of Miguna Miguna ,despite having court orders to have him released, shows the level of impunity in our country.

Forcefully taking @Dr_migunamiguna to Canada in defiance of a court order to either release him or produce him is the height of impunity @PresidentKE @InteriorKE @UKenyatta,” she said in a tweet.

In a previous tweet,Ms Karua opined that  Mr Miguna is entitled to both Canadian and Kenyan citizenship as the Kenyan constitution bestows that right upon him and many Kenyans who choose to have dual citizenship.

Miguna, who has dual citizenship, was forced into a KLM flight that departed at around 11pm.

His lawyer Nelson Havi termed the government’s efforts against his client as exercises in futility and promised to ‘fight’ for him.
