Chief Justice of the Supreme Court David Maraga has responded to claims that the government had turned down their request for extra security.
According to CJ Maraga it is untrue that Supreme Court Judges have been denied extra security following last week’s shocking incident where DCJ Philomena Mwilu’s bodyguard was shot along Ngong road.

The heinous incident prevented DCJ of the Apex court from attending a hearing that could have delayed the October 26th poll.
In a statement posted on his official Twitter handle, Maraga stated that the government has in fact beefed up the security of all the Supreme Court judges
“Our attention has been drawn to a report by Reuter’s news agency claiming that the Government has turned down a request by Supreme Court of Kenya for Extra Security for its Judges. The offices of the Chief Justice wishes to state that this reports is untrue. To the contrary, the Inspector General of Police has in fact enhanced Security of Supreme Court Judges.
