Maraga fires Warning at DPP

President of the Supreme Court ,Chief Justice David Maraga,has sent a stern warning to all State official who are attached to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the numerous number of convictions reported in matters of perpetual corruption.

The CJ stated that in future , the lawyers at that office would be expected to deliver substantial and conclusive cases in court in a view to deliver justice to the citizens undeniably.

The CJ has further pledged to Kenyans that under his leadership as the President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, the Judiciary will not hesitate in the fight against corruption and other vices that could impact negatively the lives of Kenyans.

In this regard, the CJ expressed optimism that he will unflinchingly continue to work closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta in ensuring justice is dispensed devoid of external interference .

“If we get any problems or political interference we will tell the President and I am sure he will deal with it,” Maraga noted.

Speaking during a five-day stakeholders’ workshop organized in conjunction with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in Nanyuki, Maraga further cautioned officers from the EACC that laxity will no longer be entertained as far as justice dispensation is concerned.
