The Luo nation should be allowed to secede and join Uganda-Mutahi Ngunyi

Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi now suggests that the Luo should be allowed to separate from Kenya in order to get over and done with the secession debate.

He suggests that they should be allowed to join our neighboring country, Uganda, where president Yoweri Museveni is likely to ‘entertain’ them.
In a tweet he posted on Monday,November 13,Mutahi suggests that perhaps Museveni will be more tolerant to them than the way President Uhuru Kenyatta has been.
“The Luo nation should be allowed to secede and join Uganda. Maybe Museveni will be more tolerant than Uhuru,” he tweeted, drawing sharp reactions from his followers.
The Luo community forms the largest support of NASA leader Raila Odinga and majority of the people who have been victims of police brutality during demos surrounding Kenya polls.
The demos have mostly been against Uhuru’s government or the electoral body.
NASA has been pushing for self-determination through Homa Bay MP Peter Kaluma who has since drafted a secession Bill.

If Kaluma’s bill gets passed by a majority of the two Houses, it will be signed to law by the President.

If any of the two Houses fails to pass the Bill to law, it will then be subjected to a referendum where all Kenyan voters will be eligible to vote on it, with a simple majority effecting it to law.
