KANU Leaders Finally Make a Decision After being left out of Uhuru’s Cabinet

Two of the most vocal Kenya Africa National Union (KANU) leaders have finally broken their silence over the party’s relationship with Jubilee after the party failed to get any Cabinet slot in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cabinet.

The leaders led by party secretary general Nick Salat and Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno expressed their displeasure at missing out on Kenyatta’s cabinet but reasserted their loyalty to the ruling party.

“As Kanu we are and shall continue being loyal to Jubilee even if we were forgotten in the Cabinet slots. We saw CCM, PNU get something and we are yet to get anything but we hope we shall get something in the remaining positions,” Salat said.

The leaders were speaking at Emurua Dikirr trading center during a fete to celebrate Mr Ng’eno’s victory after a poll petition filed by David Keter (Jubilee) was dismissed.

They, however, asked the Head of State to consider South Rift in the remaining slots as an appreciation for the overwhelming support of residents in last polls.

KANU entered a pre-election agreement with Jubilee party which saw KANU support Kenyatta for his reelection.

KANU had submitted a list of nominees to be considered for Cabinet slots, a move that was vehemently opposed by Gideon Moi’s political foe Deputy President William Ruto.
