Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reacted to the closure of media houses ahead of Raila Odinga swearing -in.
Speaking from his Karen home, Kalonzo rebuked the government following the shut down move.
Kalonzo said that the move was pure dictatorship.
He stated that NASA was banking on the media to air the event live across the globe.
“The media is under attack..People from around the world were expecting this event,” sid Kalonzo.
The NASA co-principal said that due to the shut down, the opposition was consulting to find a way forward.
“We are meeting to discuss..We are still consulting to find a way forward, that is why wehave delayed,” said Kalonzo.
The Wiper leader further termed the abrupt withdraw of police deployed to Uhuru Park Grounds where the NASA ‘swearing in’ event is set to take place as “tactical”.
When asked whether the ‘oathing’ ceremony would still proceed, Mr. Musyoka remained non-committal saying: “I don’t want to say about that right now. This tactical withdrawal by the police, we don’t know.”
Musyoka, however, urged their supporters gathered at Uhuru Park to remain calm and maintain peace as the opposition chiefs discuss the way forward.
He later left his residence and headed to an undisclosed location.
According to Citizen TV,they could be headed to a meeting with the other principals in Karen.
NASA is expected to swear in its two leaders at Uhuru Park from anytime.
