Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has urged Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi to stop dragging founding President Jomo Kenyatta’s name into the current clamour for lifestyle audit to all public and state officers.
Deputy President William Ruto’s henchman asked President Uhuru Kenyatta that as civil servants and political leaders are audited, the same exercise should be taken on his late father to determine his source of wealth.

This after the Head of State announced on Thursday that all state officers would be put to task to explain their source of wealth in a move aimed at ending runaway graft engulfing the country.
“We are with the President on this, in fact, more than 100 percent. We ask everyone to submit to the audit including political leaders and their families. We will start with Mzee Jomo, then follow with him (Uhuru) and the rest of us,” Sudi said on Saturday during a burial in Uasin Gishu county.
In a tweet, however,Kabogo asked the lawmaker to keep off Jomo’s name and let him ‘rest in peace’.
“Sudi, Hayati Mzee Jomo is one of our founding fathers. Let him RIP (Rest in Peace). I can understand your frustrations but let it be,” he posted on Saturday.
In a quick rejoinder, however, renown blogger Robert Alai told off the former Kiambu Governor, insisting that no stone should remain unturned in the war waged against corruption.

“No letting it be. There are inheritors of Jomo. If we are doing lifestyle audit, (it) must not be selective,” Alai tweeted.
