Why Justice Smokin Wanjala Missed Supreme Court Full Judgement

Only five judges out of seven were present to give their full judgement on Raila Odinga’s petition at the Supreme Court on Wednesday,20th September.

Regarding Judge Smokin Wanjala’s absence,Chief Justice David Maraga said: “We are five and the case was heard by six judges…Wanjala had to travel out of the country but he has signed the majority judgement.

The Star has further established that Justice Wanjala travelled to London where he took one of his two children to school. It is not however clear whether he took Nina or Dean.

CJ Maraga further requested the court to allow him to skip some parts in the judgement to save time.

“The judgement is quite long…we propose to skip some parts. But you will get copies immediately we get out of here,” he said.

“…we don’t need to read the entire descriptive part of it. If we do so we can get out of here even at 6pm.”

Police have barricaded roads surrounding the court.
