Wife to Justice Jackton Boma Ojwang and Higher Education PS Collete Suda (pictured above) is the latest high ranking government official to be caught in a controversial trend set by women in power.
The education PS chose to assign her bodyguard to carry her handbag in public,making many Kenyans on social media,particularly men,grumbling and questioning the act.
The sight of muscly bodyguards carrying the handbags of senior government officials is quickly becoming the norm, despite criticism from men on social media.

Photos have surfaced online showing the Suda’s bodyguard clutching on her handbag in public for close to 20 minutes as she attended a meeting at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies.

In the photos taken yesterday,16th November, the burly bodyguard clad in a suit is seen freely conversing to his colleagues as he waited for her.
In August, three prominent women senator Emma Mbura, Sicily Kariuki and Raychelle Omamo started the controversy when they were pictured walking alongside their bodyguards who were carrying their handbags.

Kenya Police however ,defended Ms Omamo and Sicily from accusations of misusing their male bodyguards.
Police spokesman Charles Owino argued that there is nothing wrong with male bodyguards carrying handbags for their female bosses.

“Let us not perpetuate discrimination against women. If the same police officers carry briefcases for men, why then cant they carry handbags for women? If you guard someone’s body what is wrong with carrying someone’s bag? “asked Owino as quoted by Nairobinews.
