Speaking to The Daily Nation, Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale on Thursday denied the allegations and stated that the ruling party needs a strong Opposition to keep the government on track.

“We have no intention of weakening the Opposition. We want a vibrant Opposition so that we can take on each other on issues that will make this country grow.” Duale explained.

He further clarified that the government is now focused on ensuring the country is united and all parties are brought together to heal the nation after after the long and protracted electioneering.

“Jubilee Party will reach out to like-minded leaders across the country, NASA being one of them, to unite the country after the deeply divisive elections,” Diale said.

According to the Garissa Town MP, the major reason for the infight in NASA was because of the leadership in both houses of parliament and issues to address on their 2022 succession.

He made the remarks following a sharp disagreement that hit NASA over its nominations for parliamentary leadership positions.

On Wednesday ,a section of Coast opposition MPs expressed their displeasure over the nominations and called on the principals to intervene.

Musalia Mudavadi’s party,Amani National Congress (ANC) ,also come out guns blazing and threatened to quit NASA if the list was not reviewed.
