Kimilili Constituency MP Didmus Barasa has revealed his plan to block NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga from leaving the country in the event that he (Raila) instigates violence during the repeat Presidential polls.
The outspoken Jubilee legislator has called upon the state to withhold Mr Odinga’s travel passports ahead of the repeat presidential poll slated on October 26th .
Speaking to the local press, Mr Barasa said Mr Odinga was highly likely to initiate chaos after the repeat poll then flee the country.
He vowed to sponsor a Bill in Parliament that would ensure Raila surrendered his passport before the October 17th poll.

“I will go to Parliament to ensure that Raila surrenders his passport as he will cause chaos and flee. We want him here,” Barasa said as quoted by The Standard.
The Opposition is scared and has resorted to inciting their supporters to take to the streets and cause mayhem,”he added.

Mr Barasa said his Bill would ensure that the former Prime Minister is present to witness the repercussions of his action should they call for mass action.

The MP accused Opposition leaders of a plot to use violence to get the presidency.
“They have been engaging in violence to intimidate their rivals and that should not be the case in the new dispensation,” he said.
He added: “We should have a peaceful election. There is no need for people to cause violence in order to attain political office. This is why I want Raila’s passport detained.”

He accused the opposition for double-speak,citing that NASA party nominations were marred with massive electoral malpractices whereas they are calling for a free and fair party polls.
