Rutto who had pledged to support the leadership of his successor Joyce Laboso, now says Jubilee leaders in the region are frustrating his efforts to do so.
Speaking at a church in Sotik on Sunday, the former NASA coalition co-principal said a section of Jubilee leaders in the South Rift county insult and provoke him whenever he tries to work with Laboso’s government.
He gave examples of incidents where he attended social events organised by the governor, saying his critics turned out to politicize his presence.
“People should not get scared of my presence in social events within the county. My supporters and CCM leaders have not made any move that shows we are seeking to undermine the current leadership,” said Rutto as quoted by The Star.
“We should instead respect one another and stop politicizing every issue,” Rutto added.
