Invitation Cards made on raila’s inauguration

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has sent invitation cards for the swearing-in of their leader Raila Odinga slated for December 12.

According to The Saturday Standard, the digital invitation cards with Raila’s names appended do not however specify the venue of the event.

“You are invited. Come witness the swearing-in of the peoples’ president Raila Amollo Odinga on 12th December at 12 noon. Location to be communicated after vetting of RSVP,” reads the card, which strictly admits one.

Though details of the ceremony are still scanty, NASA leaders said they are at latter stages of preparing for the event.

However,It is not clear who will conduct the swearing-in, its legal implications, what instruments of power Mr Odinga will have,  and whether a guard of honour will be mounted by defence forces as it happens during the presidential swearing-in ceremony.
Nonetheless, the opposition coalition has said the event will be graced by regional and international leaders – although they failed to disclose their identity.

NASA insists the event will not breach any law and will be bloodless, as they seek electoral justice in Kenya.
The team planning the ceremony, which also doubles up as the People’s Assembly National Steering Committee, will be led by NASA economic strategist Dr David Ndii.
