In a statement posted on its official Twitter handle, the electoral agency cautioned Kenyans from falling for any unauthenticated results.
Citizen TV later explained that the discrepancy in results they were airing to those in the portal was because the figures on their screens were not from IEBC Portal ,but were as received by their own staff on the ground as announced by IEBC Returning Officers from Form 34Bs.
Local media houses have been forced to come up with their own tallies after the IEBC stated that it would not have provisional results as had been the case in previous elections.

However,Kenyans raised eyebrows when President Kenyatta was reported by Citizen TV to have surpassed the 6.5 million voter turn out, considering about 25 constituencies had not participated in the repeat poll as at this writing.
