This year’s general elections were not ‘free, fair, verifiable and credible’ according to civil society groups under Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu.
In its initial findings, Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu stated results released by IEBC had numerous inconsistencies, falling shot of the constitutional threshold of the electoral process.
“The declaration of presidential election results on August 11 revealed important contradictions and massive anomalies in all the numbers released by IEBC on the official record on its website and through the chairman’s formal announcement,” said Njonjo Mue, a human rights lawyer and transitional justice expert as quoted by The Star.
“In-short numbers do not add up,” Njonjo added.
