Gov’t Gives Final Decision on Miguna Standoff

The government has declared it will have no other option but to deport lawyer Miguna Miguna if he continues to refuse to re-apply for his Kenyan citizenship.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke, Interior Ministry Communications Director Mwenda Njoka stated that the government’s last course of action will be to deport the Self-proclaimed NRM general.

” We sent the documents to him to sign but he failed to do that and unnecessarily became a drama queen.

He has a choice whether to sign the documents or not but we hope he does. Some people are talking to him to sign the documents,” Njoka said.

Njoka further clarified that last night’s failure by the state to deport him was not meant to abandon Miguna in Dubai but was to en route him to Canada where he is a citizen.

Miguna is said to have refused to sign the form stating he is a Kenyan citizen by birth.

On Tuesday, Miguna through his lawyers John Khaminwa moved to court where the government was ordered to release him unconditionally.
