Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko,in the company of his deputy Polycap Igathe, led a sting operation at the County Cash Office, City Hall after a tip-off.
They found out that yesterday’s collections in excess of Ksh 7 million in cash was lying with the cashiers by 11:00am yet the County’s Bank is only 50 metres away.

Surprisingly, all cheques collected yesterday had been banked.
