The National Super Alliance (NASA) technical team was forced to evacuate its tallying facility in Runda Nairobi after Police officers believed to be Flying Squad officers stormed it to rescue two of their colleagues in custody.
The two said to be National Intelligence Service (NIS) agents were beaten up after infiltrating a presser called by the coalition technical team.

NASA had demanded that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) gives it access to its servers. It said this would help clear doubts about doctoring of results in IEBC’s systems.
The two men, posing as journalists, who were armed were caught by NASA security agents, manhandled and had their phones confiscated after they failed to identify themselves.
It took the intervention of their fellow Flying Squad officers who arrived in two cars to rescue them. However the drama had only started. Another plain clothed officer arrived later and scanned the perimeter wall of the property for an half an hour by trying to peep inside the premise.

They were picked up 30 minutes later in a black Range Rover before another car full of plain clothes cops drove to the property and parked a few metres away.
This prompted the NASA staff to abandon the facility with thousands of documents to an unknown destination.
“We have already been infiltrated and it is just a matter of time before the police raid this centre so we have been forced to de-commission it,” said David Ndii, the head of NASA’s technical advisory committee.
Dr Ndii added they had been forced to reveal the existence of the tallying centre in order to clear rumors that NASA didn’t have evidence to back their IEBC hacking claims.
